Lawsuit says Circuit City guard beat up on patron

By Randy Wilson

After being pre-approved on his credit card to purchase a TV set, the manager at the Richmond VA store refused his purchase.  He got upset and talked back to the manager at which point the guard came over and hit the customer “face, back of neck, head and feet (?).”  Then he locked him in a storage room for twenty minutes until the police arrived.  And for all that, the plaintiff is asking a cool 2mil.   Not sure I’d go for that if I were on that jury…and if I were the bankruptcy judge handling Circuit City’s case?  Not sure I’d sign-off on such an amount when the list of creditors must be mighty loooong.
