Consumers tricked into memberships: lawsuit

The complaint alleges that MemberWorks Incorporated takes consumer information that telemarketers gathered when customers called to order to products and signs them up for a paid membership that they were told was free. Plaintiff called a telemarketer to purchase exercise tapes and was told that she was also signed up a  free membership but was subsequently billed $72.

This class action lawsuit was filed in Idaho state court.
