Extendicare facility sued in Kentucky

The estate of a former Kenwood nursing home resident filed suit March 25 in Kentucky state court  alleging that negligent care caused Kimberly Hamilton to suffer injuries.  Kenwood is a part of the Richmond Health and Rehabilitation Complex owned by Extendicare.

Another facility in that same complex received a citation last year after state official viewed a videotape involving the abuse of resident.  Nine staff members were dismissed and new management was installed and received new training, Cindi Simpson, regional manager for Extendicare said in December 2008.
