I was talking with a friend who was upset about the idea that employers would review their Facebook page and he reminded me that its possible to restrict public access to your profile. Of course, that might send a message to a potential employer that you have something to hide. Another thing potential employers do is ask candidates if they can view their profile. Would you say no?
Perhaps a better way of looking at Facebook as a employment statement is that while it will contain personal information, your profile to highlight the positive aspects of who you are and communicate your attractive personal qualities. If a potential employer doesn’t like who you present yourself as on Facebook, its probably not going a good fit anyway.
