What’s hot for social media in 2010?

Social media examiners have reported on a new social networking study by Marketing Profs.  Hats off to them for giving us many highlights so we don’t have to pay the $600.00 to purchase it ourselves!

The headline claims the report states that Facebook better than Twitter for marketing but I didn’t see that supported by the highlights.  What it said was that people stay within the confines of Facebook more than Twitter but that’s a structural issue.  Facebook is designed to capture users longer while Twitter lets them roam off into linkland.

Biggest takeaway: Jason Baer of “Convince & Convert” says we will say more case studies that show the integration of social media into other marketing initiatives.  I sure hope so as that will assist people in making strategic decisions about how they employ social networking.
