Canadian judge: no right to Facebook profile

Recently, attorneys defending a personal injury case against an insurance company requested a court order from the judge for the plaintiff to preserve her personal information on Facebook which the plaintiff had made private and hand it over to the insurance company lawyers.

The judge denied the request saying that the attorneys could have asked the plaintiff about information on her Facebook page earlier on or cross-examined her in court about the information.  However, the judge did let the attorneys re-opened cross examination to ask the plaintiff about the information contained on her profile.
