Can you pitch your practice in 30 seconds?

One of the hardest things in marketing is to effectively, succinctly and powerfully tell a stranger about your business.  I struggle with this everyday.

Thanks to Jim Jantsch of Duct Tape Marketing, in his highly appreciated “weekend favs” he links to a Harvard Business Review app which assists you in building your “elevator pitch” idea by idea.

Create several versions of your pitch:

1. This should be about 15 seconds – how you introduce yourself quickly to strangers

2. This one should be about 30 seconds and explain what you offer to potential clients.

3.  This one is about 45-60 seconds and be used when you see your listener is engaged in what you are saying.  It should include something specific that the person you are talking with can share with a potential client: a free consultation, white paper, opportunity.
