This forward-looking Texas city voted this month to establish the largest solar array in the U.S.  The project contracted with San Francisco’s Gemini Solar, will create six hundred jobs, should be completed late in 2010 and when finished should allow Austin Energy to power 5,000 homes.  Nice to provide good news for change.

Lehman bankruptcy: still creating shockwaves

February 2, 2009

Tax officials in Austin Texas are concerned that the nearly $18 million that Lehman Brothers and others owe on their ownership stake in ten Austin buildings.  Its seems that the other owners are embroiled in lawsuits with the bankrupt investment bank to get them to pay their fair share but that the money is due now and the lawsuit, not surprisingly, hasn’t resolved the issue.  $9.5 million of this money owed to the Austin school district.

Same 43 errors no matter which computer

November 24, 2008

The State of Texas is suing a Austin man, James McCreary and his company, Alpha Red Inc, for selling software called “RegistryCleanerXP” that promises to fix errors and make your computer run more smoothly.  However, it does no such thing according to the State.  In fact, the complaint states that if you go to and click on the free scan it will reveal that your computer has 43 errors.  My computer also has 43 errors and Uncle Arthur’s too!   Every computer has 43 errors, isn’t that amazing!

Lehman Bankruptcy: Austin Property Company Wants $

November 17, 2008

Here is the language from the Thomas Properties CEO:

“”Through this motion, we are seeking to compel Lehman Brothers to accept and honor its obligation to fund the $100 million revolving credit facility.”

So what’s really going on?  Its not like they will get their $100 million from the very bankruptcy investment bank.  Looks like Thomas Properties wants out of the deal to make other arrangements but they can’t until the court says, forgetaboutit.  Just my guess.
