100s of credit reports sold to identity thieves

The FTC has settled a case with a credit reporting agency called, Rental Research Services, Inc., located in Minnesota involving the sale of 318 credit reports to identity thieves.  The company provides credit reports of potential renters to landlords but the credit agency failed to verify that the customer asking for the credit report was actually a landlord.
