How the Feds gets your Facebook info

Late last year, Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) filed a Freedom of Information Act request on several federal goverment agencies and the results of their requests are trickling into their website.

This one from the Justice department on how to use Facebook and the other social networking sites to “obtain and use evidence” is very revealing both on the mindset of an agency that sees social networking as the treasure trove of personal information that it is and how it can be exploited both through legal means and in cases of “emergency.”
