Bank of America: another bad practices lawsuit

Bank of America is being sued in California Federal Court for  unfair accounting practices that show customers have over-drawn their accounts and wrongly assessing overdraft fees on those accounts.

These suit are becoming more common.   Is it growing consumer distrust of banks or banks desperate to make money and way they can given their tremendous debt loads?  Or both?
