More on email addresses & social media

Yesterday I posted about the problems for employers if employees use a personal email address for work purposes.  This could make it more difficult for IT to report and monitor data breaches.

Here is an article that advocates creating a unique “gmail” account for social networking activity as a way of protecting your main email address from spam.  However, if you use social networking for work and personal purposes, this could put your employer at risk because the IT department can’t account for all work related email traffic from a personal email account.
