Republic windows plant may re-open

A big PR victory for Obama and his stimulus.  For those with information overload, this was the story about the plant that announced its closing  leaving workers with decades experience working with the company without severance, vacation or other benefits back in December.  However, they successfully fought back and negotiated a favorable deal but weren’t able to keep their jobs.

However, now the plant is scheduled to re-open and hire back the 250 laid-off workers because the company that bought Republic Windows (Serious Metals) specializes in energy efficient windows which dovetails nicely with the green spending authorized by the stimulus package.
